More than just a bar… a place to belong ❤️

Hi, I’m Claire!

In July 2023, after spending my career working in a completely different industry, I decided to take a leap of faith into the world of hospitality and took on The Copper Hatch.

My vision was simple: to create somewhere a little different. A warm, welcoming and cosy bar with a fantastic atmosphere, great drinks, friendly faces and a real sense of community. Somewhere that particularly appealed to a slightly more mature crowd, where people could relax, enjoy good conversation and feel completely at home.

In May 2024, my journey continued when I took on YNOT, giving us even more opportunities to bring people together, host celebrations and create memorable experiences.

Today, The Copper Hatch and YNOT offer so much more than just a place to enjoy a drink.

From our great selection of draught beers, wines, spirits and cocktails to live music, tribute acts, summer barbecues and pop-up food nights, there’s always something happening.

We’re especially proud of the community we’ve created. Our non-profit Ladies Club brings people together for friendship, laughter and new experiences. We also host a monthly Book Club and Bring Your Own Vinyl night, giving people the chance to meet, share interests and make new friends.

With a wonderful space for private parties and celebrations, along with our fantastic beer garden, we love being part of life’s special moments, whether that’s a birthday, a family gathering or simply a sunny afternoon with friends.

For me, though, the most rewarding part is seeing people happy. Watching friendships grow, hearing laughter around the bar, seeing everyone singing along to live music and knowing we’ve helped create those moments is what makes it all worthwhile.

None of this would be possible without our fantastic team, who work incredibly hard all year round to make sure every customer feels welcome, looked after and leaves having had a lovely time.

We’ve always wanted to be more than just a bar. We want to be somewhere people feel they belong, somewhere friendships are made and memories are created.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and so grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way.
